Preparing the Site

Use this checklist before mounting the charger or starting the PlugStream Installer app. The app commissioning flow works best when the customer details, network route, evidence requirements, and handover plan are ready before the charger is powered on.

Related guides:

Confirm the installation plan

Before mounting the charger, confirm:

  • the charger model and rating match the job paperwork
  • the proposed location is suitable for the customer cable route
  • the final position keeps the charging cable clear of normal walkways where possible
  • there is safe access for drilling, fixing, cable entry, and testing
  • the upstream protective device and isolation arrangements match the installation design

Confirm customer and handover details

The installer app needs customer details before handover can be completed.

Have these ready:

  • customer name
  • customer email address
  • site address
  • location name, such as Home, Driveway, or Office
  • whether the customer is present for QR handover

If the customer is not present, the app can create a handover link for them to complete later.

Confirm network route

Decide how the charger will connect before starting commissioning.

  • Ethernet is preferred where available.
  • Wi-Fi credentials should be confirmed before power-up.
  • If mobile data is used, confirm the required hardware and signal are available on site.

For technical firewall and DNS requirements, see Network Requirements for PlugStream Charge Points.

Confirm CT and load-management requirements

If the site uses an Aux CT or site load management, confirm:

  • CT clamp location
  • CT orientation
  • expected import/export direction
  • site supply limit
  • whether solar or other external loads are present

The installer app will ask you to verify live readings before handover when site load management is enabled.

Prepare evidence

Make sure you can capture the required photos before leaving site:

  • charger front
  • serial/rating label
  • PCB wired and terminated before the cover is closed
  • consumer unit or isolator
  • wider installed context

If mobile upload is not available on site, evidence can be deferred and completed later, but the installer warranty will only activate once the required evidence is uploaded.

Next step

When the site details and network route are ready, confirm tools required, choose the installation height, then mount the charger using How to Install a PlugStream Charge Point.
