Why does charging start immediately when I set a schedule?
If charging starts straight away even though you expected it to wait, check where the schedule is set and which charging mode is active.
Common reasons
Charging may start immediately because:
- the charger is in Plug & Charge mode
- Charge Now, Boost, or another temporary override is active
- the schedule is saved in the vehicle, not in MyPlugStream
- the charger schedule is disabled or has no active days
- the schedule window is already active
- the vehicle is requesting a short initial charge before sleeping
- the charger is offline and cannot receive the latest app change yet
- a supplier-managed charging product is controlling the schedule
What to check
- Open the charger in the MyPlugStream app.
- Confirm the charging mode is Scheduled Charging or PlugStream Sense, if that is what you expect.
- Check whether Charge Now or Boost is active.
- Check the schedule start and end times.
- Check that the schedule applies to the correct days.
- Check the vehicle app for a separate schedule or charge limit.
If both the car and charger have schedules, they can conflict. In most cases, choose one place to manage the schedule.
If the charger waits correctly but the vehicle does not wake when the scheduled window starts, Vehicle Wake Assist may help on supported chargers.
If the charger is offline
If the charger is offline, it may not have received the latest schedule change from the app.
Reconnect the charger and allow a few minutes for the app and charger to sync.
