Installer Support Articles
Use these guides as one installation journey. Start with the site checks, complete the physical installation guide, then power on the charger and finish commissioning in the PlugStream Installer app.
1. Prepare the site
Read these before drilling or powering the charger.
- Preparing the site: confirm access, customer details, site design, network route, CT requirements, and evidence needs.
- Tools required: bring installation tools, commissioning equipment, and the right charge-test method.
- Installation height: agree a safe, usable mounting height before marking the wall.
2. Mount the charger
- How to Install a PlugStream Charge Point: full installation guide.
- Mounting the device: mounting checks, cable entry checks, and the installation video.
Before closing the charger, capture any evidence photos that are easier to take while the cover, label, isolator, or cable route is still accessible.
3. Prepare the network
Confirm the network route before handover.
- Network setup: choose Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or mobile connectivity.
- Setup WiFi/Ethernet Network Connection: detailed network setup guide.
- Network Requirements for PlugStream: firewall, DNS, DHCP, and internet access requirements.
4. Commission in the Installer app
Power the charger on when the site is prepared, the charger is mounted, evidence is ready, and the network route is known.
- How to use the PlugStream Installer app: Bluetooth connection, customer assignment, firmware readiness, evidence, charger tests, and handover.
The app will guide you through:
- site readiness checks
- Bluetooth connection and network setup
- customer and location assignment
- firmware readiness
- installation evidence
- CT verification when site load management is enabled
- self-test, live readings, charge test, and electrical sign-off
- customer handover QR code or invite link
If anything does not match the site design or expected readings, stop and resolve the issue before handover.
