Mounting the Device

This guide summarises the mounting checks installers should complete before moving on to wiring and commissioning.

Before drilling

Confirm:

  • the site has been prepared using Preparing the site
  • the final height follows Installation height
  • the selected position matches the site design
  • the cable route and entry point are clear
  • the wall or structure can support the charger
  • the final position leaves room to remove the front cover
  • the charger will be mounted level

Use the drilling guide supplied with the charger where available.

Mounting sequence

  1. Isolate and make the work area safe.
  2. Remove the charger front cover as described in the installation guide.
  3. Mark the mounting holes using the drilling guide.
  4. Drill the fixing holes using bits suitable for the mounting surface.
  5. Fit the top fixings and hang the charger level.
  6. Fit the lower fixings and tighten securely.
  7. Confirm the unit does not move under normal cable handling forces.

Cable entry and strain relief

Before connecting conductors, check:

  • the cable enters without sharp bends
  • the gland or entry method is suitable for the environment
  • the cable has appropriate strain relief
  • conductors can reach terminals without tension
  • the earth path is routed correctly for the charger design

Do not continue to commissioning until the mechanical installation is secure and the electrical installation checks have been completed.

After mounting

Before closing the charger:

  • confirm all fixings are secure
  • confirm terminals are tightened to the required torque shown on the charger or PCB marking
  • confirm no tools or loose material remain inside the enclosure
  • take a clear photo of the PCB wired and terminated before the cover is closed
  • take any required installation evidence photos while the view is still accessible
