Safety Instructions

These instructions apply to PlugStream 7S (PS-7S) and PlugStream 7T (PS-7T) charge points. Read them before using, cleaning, inspecting, or troubleshooting the equipment.

Stop if the charger appears unsafe

Do not use the charge point if you notice damage, exposed conductors, water ingress, unusual heat, a burning smell, repeated tripping, a red fault indicator, or other unexpected behaviour. Keep clear, isolate the supply only if it is safe and you are authorised to do so, and contact your installer or PlugStream Support.

Safe use

  • Inspect the enclosure, charging cable, connector, socket, labels, and plug contacts before use.
  • Connect only to a compatible vehicle inlet.
  • Fully uncoil the cable and route it away from sharp edges, standing water, heat, doors, and vehicle movement.
  • Handle the connector by its body. Never pull it out by the cable.
  • Unlock the connector using the vehicle or app before removal. See I can't unplug my charge point if it will not release.
  • Disconnect the cable before driving away.
  • Keep children away from the charge point and charging cable.

Active implantable medical devices

If you use an active implantable medical device, such as a pacemaker or implantable cardioverter defibrillator, follow the medical-device manufacturer's instructions for electric vehicle charging equipment. Ask your clinician or the device manufacturer for advice before using the charge point if those instructions are unclear.

  • Follow any separation distance specified for your medical device.
  • Do not place the charging cable or connector directly over the implant site.
  • If you suspect interference, stop using the charge point, move away from the equipment, and seek medical advice.

The permanent safety label on the product must remain present and legible. Contact PlugStream Support if it is missing or damaged.

Prohibited use and modification

  • Do not open, disassemble, repair, or modify the charge point. Only an authorised and competent specialist may open or service it.
  • Do not remove or obscure labels, safety markings, or rating plates.
  • Do not use a damaged cable, connector, socket, or charge point.
  • Do not use contacts that are dirty or wet.
  • Do not use an extension lead.
  • Do not use an adapter unless PlugStream has explicitly approved it for the installation and vehicle.
  • Do not use the charge point outside its specified ambient operating range of -25 degrees C to +40 degrees C.
  • Do not open or service the enclosure in wet conditions.

Failure to follow these instructions may cause electric shock, fire, injury, or equipment damage and may affect warranty cover.
