Safe use of PlugStream chargers
To ensure safe and reliable operation of your PlugStream charger, please follow the guidance below.
✅ DOs
- Always inspect the charging cable and plug contacts for damage, cracks, or contamination before use.
- Only connect the plug to a compatible vehicle inlet.
- After charging ends, unplug the connector carefully — never use excessive force.
- See this article if you’re having trouble disconnecting.
- Always unplug the charging cable before driving away — some vehicles can be started with the cable still connected.
- Keep the charging cable out of reach of children.
- Handle the plug with care — never step on it or drive over the cable.
- Fully uncoil the charging cable before connecting to your vehicle.
❌ DON’Ts
Do not use or modify your charger in unsafe ways
- Do not operate the charger if you notice cracks, breaks, corrosion, or other damage. Contact PlugStream Support if in doubt.
- Do not attempt to open, disassemble, repair, or modify your charger — only authorised specialists may service PlugStream units.
- Do not remove any labels, safety markings, or rating plates from the device or cable.
- Do not use PlugStream outside its specified operating limits: –25 °C to +40 °C ambient temperature.
- Do not open the charger cover in wet conditions (e.g. rain).
- Never use a damaged charging cable.
- Never use contacts that are dirty or wet.
- Never use the charging cable with an extension lead or adapter, unless explicitly approved.
